Lincolnshire Co-operative Ltd (Lincolnshire Co-op) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect will be processed by us. Please read this privacy policy carefully to understand our views and practices and your rights regarding your personal data. By visiting any of this website or downloading our dividend card mobile app (hereafter referred to as ‘app’) you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this policy.

This policy applies to information we collect about:

  • visitors to our website.
  • people who register on our website
  • It applies to the products and services we provide (florist products and our funeral tribute products) and if you are a member of the Co-op Community.
  • It applies to our consumer, sole trader and partnership customers but doesn’t apply to the information we hold about companies or organisations.
  • It also applies even if you’re not one of our customers and you interact with us as part of us running our business, such as by:
  • using one of our products or services – paid for by someone else,
  • taking part in a survey or trial,
  • entering a prize promotion,
  • calling our helpdesk, or
  • generally enquiring about our services or otherwise providing your personal information to us.
  • If you need to give us personal information about someone else in relation to our products and services, the privacy policy will also apply. And if we need the permission of the other person to use that information, we’ll ask you to check they are OK with this.

The information we collect about you

When you complete a form requesting information from the website and app we collect the following personal information from you:

  • Names, Email address, dividend card membership number, password; amongst others

Additionally, our website will also collect the following personal information from you:

  • location and browsing history to serve content relevant offers and events; 

We may collect other information for specific purposes such as competitions notified to you at the time.

How we will use the information about you

We gather this information to allow us to provide the information or services requested. The relevant information is then used by us, our agents and sub-contractors to communicate with you on any matter relating to the provision of the information or services in general. If you agree, we may also contact you about other products and services we think may be of interest to you. We may also use information and statistics for promotion, blogs and a few purposes.

We may also use aggregate information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring website and in order to help us to develop those technologies and our services. We may also provide such aggregate information to third parties. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify you.

From time to time we may provide your information to our customer service agencies for research and analysis purposes so that we can monitor and improve the provision of information and services.

We or our agents and sub-contractors may contact you by post, email or telephone to ask you for your feedback and comments on our website, information or services.

Accessing and updating how we use your information

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. You can access and update the information, by sending us an email to dataprotection@lincolnshire.coop or send a letter to Data Protection Officer, Lincolnshire Co-op, 15-23 Tentercroft Street, Lincoln, LN5 7DB. You are normally not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. We have one month to respond to you.

Once we’ve looked at your request, we’ll let you know when you can expect to hear from us.

We’ll always try to help you with your request, but we can refuse if we believe doing so would have a negative effect on others or the law prevents us. And even though we have to complete your request free of charge, we are allowed to reject requests if:

  • they’re repetitive;
  • you don’t have the right to ask for the information; or
  • the requests made are excessive.

If that’s the case, we’ll explain why we believe we don’t have to fulfil the request.

We want to ensure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. Marketing

We and our group companies may also wish to provide you with information about special features of our website or any other service or products we think may be of interest to you. If you agree to us providing you with marketing information, you can always opt out later.

Third Party we may share your personal data

We may share your personal data with selected associated third parties, some of whom we appoint to provide services, including:

  • Business partners, advisors, agents, subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with you;
  • Sub-contractors with whom we have entered into a contract to assist us with providing our membership services to you for example assisting us with our election processes.
  • Analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our website;
  • Customer survey providers in order to receive feedback and improve our services.
